This publication was an early work by the then newly formed SDRRS (now the CDRRL), highlighting the railway they are attempting to restore. As a publication, it reflects quite well on both the author and organisation. The book starts with a brief history of the railway development in Donegal, before covering locomotives, rolling stock, freight wagons, railcars, buses and a chapter describing a journey on the CDRJC. A number of chapters are devoted to the heritage aspects of the CDRJC and the plans of the SDRRS. As an early publication of a group that appeared out of nowhere, the book is of a high standard, being both informative and relevant.
